Cornwall Home & Lifestyle Show expands indoors and out for 2015

Organisers have turned away national chains in favour of local firms

The Homeware Market, the Feel Good Health & Wellbeing Zone, and an even bigger Gardens Arena are just a few of the many new features of the 2015 Cornwall Home & Lifestyle Show.

The organisers believe next year’s event, which will be held at the Royal Cornwall Showground on the weekend of May 2 and 3, will have a record number of exhibitors.

Since its inception in 2011, the show has grown every year and the 2015 event will be no exception – with plans for an impressive 155 trade stands which the organisers hope will attract in excess of 4,000 visitors over the two days.

New for 2015 will be the Homeware Market, featuring cookware, kitchenware, blankets and bedding, soft furnishing and other home accessories. Cornwall Home & Lifestyle Show MD Andrew Weaver said: “Visitors may come along to investigate having a new kitchen or solar panels fitted – something they can’t take with them on the day. But everybody likes to take something home, especially when there are so many lovely things on show, so the Homeware Market is an obvious extension for us.”

The thinking was the same behind the Food & Drink arena, which was introduced at the last event and will be expanded for 2015.

Another important new indoor addition is the Feel Good Health & Wellbeing Zone, which will feature skincare, health and beauty products, therapies, spas, fitness classes, gyms, pampering and relaxation – of equal interest to homeowners and to the owners of B&Bs and boutique hotels.

The Gardens Arena is also growing. There will be 12 large and 11 medium-sized spaces outside this year. The arena will not only offer visitors inspiration for their gardens, but also the opportunity to take away plants and shrubs and get started straight away.

The organisers are committed to keeping the event as a showcase for local businesses. In the past they have turned away big national homes and gardens chains on several occasions to maintain that local feel – and they have no plans to make this year any different.

“We are a proud Cornish business, and we want to maximise the opportunities for other local independent traders,” said Andrew Weaver.

This year, Cornish Traditional Cottages has chosen to become the event’s headline sponsor. Partner in the company, George Edward-Collins, said: “Cornish Traditional Cottages is very proud to be the headline sponsor for the Cornwall Home Show 2015.

“Andrew and his team work hard to ensure exhibitors achieve the best from the show, ensuring a good return on investment for the exhibitor. We have been impressed with the quality of the visitor year-on-year, and the overall exposure the show provides Cornish Traditional Cottages.”

Truro-based Cornish Woodburners has also decided to become an associate of the show. The firm’s owner, Kean Roberts said: “Cornwall Woodburners is very excited to be exhibiting at this year’s Cornwall Home Show.

“This will be the fourth time we have exhibited at the show and each time it is a huge success, generating many leads, and helping us to promote our business further. This year we have taken on a sponsorship package as we have been so pleased with the work previous shows have generated.”

As well as the new developments for 2015, the show will bring together the best of Cornwall’s home and lifestyle related products and services. These range from interiors and gardens to architecture and renewable energy suppliers. Also exhibiting at the show will be mortgage lenders, letting agents, quality cars and lifestyle products and services.
